The translation above is in Akkadian, which was the Lingua Franca for the Hurrians. A translation into Hurrian would contain too many uncertain elements. The script you see is cuneiform, which was used for many languages in the region in that era (see also Sumerian and Akkadian).

Course description: Hurrian is known to us from texts found in Syria and North Mesopotamia. These texts are written in cuneiform and date from between 2230 to 1200 B.C. Hurrian is related to Urartean. During the course, students learn the grammar, after which some Hurrian texts will be studied.
Total duration: 1 semester; extension possible, consult prof. van Soldt.
