Course description: | Akkadian, and its dialects Babylonian and Assyrian, were spoken from about 2400 BC until 70 AD. The language is known from a great many texts written in so called "cuneiform" script. During the course, students learn the script and the grammar, after which texts from various periods and genres will be studied. |
Total duration: | 5 semesters. It is possible to take 2 more tutorials of 4 ects each in the third year. |
