Course description: Sumerian was spoken in the south of Mesopotamia during the third millennium B.C., after which it remained in use in education and science until about 70 A.D. The language was written in cuneiform. In this course, students will master the grammar and the script. After this, we will read several texts from various periods and genres.
Total duration: 3 semesters. Extension is possible: two more tutorials (of 4 ECTS each) in the third year.
