Course description: The focus of this course is on the acquisition of grammar and the development of a basic vocabulary, such that students can train basic reading and conversational skills, and gain enough background to pursue linguistic studies of Quechua. Social, historical, and cultural aspects are studied using literature and concrete audio-visual language materials. In the second year, the course aims at giving the students an overview of Quechua literature, and providing them with the background they need to research Quechua linguistics or literature on their own.
Total duration: 4 semesters.
