Course description: The course offers an introduction to the grammar of 'Classical Nahuatl', which is the denomination for the variant of Nahuatl that was spoken in central Mexico in the 16th and early 17th century. Therefore, the course will mainly focus on language comprehension. Language production (speaking) will receive very little attention. The study of texts will help students to place their acquired grammatical knowledge in a socio-historical context.
