A coursebook with authentic Greek texts will be used, and the grammar will be studied. Reading skills will be further developed in a follow-up course, for which the rest of the coursebook, as well as some Greek texts chosen by the students, form the basis. 2 years, 2 hours per week. Lecturers Koning and de Jonge. For students who start without any knowledge of Greek.
2. These blocks will focus on the acquisition of an elementary command of the Greek language. In two separate blocks, the structure and the lexicon, and the sentence structure of Greek will be dealt with. Students will read classical texts that will help them to better understand the grammar classes. The courses are offered for two different groups: one with students who passed their high school exam for Greek, and the other with students who have had no previous experience with Greek whatsoever. These courses are the first ones in the first year of the Classic Studies, and will go through the required reading quite rapidly.
